Common questions

What's the actual range I'll get?

Manufacturer rating is ~5 km line-of-sight on the LONG_FAST modem preset. In dense woodland expect 1–3 km between riders; on open moorland and hilltops 5–8 km is realistic. Group rides usually have multiple riders, so the mesh relays through anyone in between, and effective coverage is bigger than any single hop.

How long does the battery last?

The T1000-E has a 700 mAh battery and the EnduroRoute config broadcasts your position every 30 s while moving (5 min when stationary). That gives a typical all-day ride of 8–12 hours. Charge over USB-C between days.

Is it waterproof?

The T1000-E is splash-resistant, not rated IP65, so keep it in a jacket pocket, tank bag, or sealed mount. If you want a fully rated alternative I can substitute a RAK WisMesh Pocket (IP65) on request, same price.

How is this different from sharing my phone's location?

Phone location sharing (the EnduroRoute mobile-only mode included for free) needs cell signal at every rider's phone. The Trail Tracker uses LoRa radio, which works in dead zones, no SIM card needed, and the mesh relays through whoever is in between two distant riders.

What if I sell my bike or stop riding?

The tracker stays on the EnduroRoute mesh for as long as you want it. If you pass it to another rider they just pair it to their phone, no admin involved.

Android support?

Not yet. EnduroRoute is iOS-only for v1, and the Trail Tracker pairs with the iOS app over Bluetooth. Android is on the roadmap; if you order one now I'll let you know when Android support ships.
